National divorce:

A Plan for Peace

by Jason Fry

America is in crisis, and the differences between people, states and parties are irreconcilable. Many doubt whether their state’s relationship with the Federal Government is a beneficial one. There is dissatisfaction on both the political right and left.

The looming question is not if the United States will break up, but when.  This book makes the case that a negotiated split represents the most likely chance for a peaceful outcome.

By committing to legislative processes, nonviolence, and a good dose of “live and let live,” cities, states, and individuals can regroup in ways that better suit their preferences.  National divorce is the peaceful path for every American to have it their way, right now.

Other People are Saying…

Anyone who thinks that secession can’t happen here needs to read Jason Fry’s book.

F.H. Buckley, author of American Secession

"More and more Americans are realizing that the dissolution--whether de facto or de jure--of the various states in the Union is coming. But that doesn't absolve us from studying the different routes for secession and various proposals for an orderly separation. As Jason Fry says in his introduction, "The breakup is inevitable, but the chaos is not." I encourage all Americans who desire peace to read Jason Fry's important contribution to this vital discussion."

Robert P. Murphy, author of COMMON SENSE: The Case for an Independent Texas. Senior Fellow, Mises Institute.

Jason Fry presents a compelling argument: the best way to avoid a chaotic split or even civil war is to come to the table and amicably decide to part ways. Using a blend of folksy metaphors, personal stories, rigorous academic analysis, and balanced arguments, Jason makes his case convincingly.

Daniel Miller, author of Texit: Why and How Texas Will Leave the Union. President, Texas Nationalist Movement.

"The way to peacefully solve America's difficulties, perpetuated by our broken Federal Government, lies in individuals from all political backgrounds committing to nonviolent separation.  Divisive times call for bold legislators and proactive delegates who recognize the need for change and have the courage to stand up against tyranny.  Without a threat of separation, the Federal Bureaucracy has no limitations on their absolute power. Jason Fry's book outlines a reasonable approach to prevent civil unrest and resolve our differences by ‘national divorce.’”

Kyle Biedermann, former Texas State Representative, author of HB 1359 "The Texas Independence Referendum Act."

“Political divorce settlements are more common than you think.  And mostly new states are created peacefully and democratically as in the cases of Norway, Malta, and Finland in the past century. While one might not agree with secession, it is not a process that is inherently violent or bitter. Sometimes, like in marriages, partnerships are not meant to be”

Professor Matt Qvortrup, Author of I Want to Break Free: A Practical Guide to Making a New Country, Manchester University Press

“Jason Fry makes a thorough and witty case for why and how every state has the right to secede from the union. Building on the work of experts in the field of secession, Jason makes an indisputable case for peaceful separation.”

Elliot "Alu" Axelman, author of Presumed Guilty; Editor in Chief, LibertyBlock.com

“Jason Fry has skillfully interwoven political philosophy and hard data into a sound argument for any state’s independence and why it would be a net benefit for the common people heading into the future. Anyone looking to win over those who are skeptical or uncertain on the issue of national divorce will find convincing arguments from every angle in this book to turn doubters into believers.”
